Why We Built This Site
Minnesota makes many judicial records public, yet the right route depends on what is being sought. A case listing, the Register of Actions, a hearing schedule, and a certified copy are not the same record. Big Stone County cases are heard in Minnesota District Court, and the local court administrator keeps the official court file. Minnesota Court Records Online, or MCRO, offers public remote access to many records, while courthouse terminals and court administration can provide other public-access or certification paths. This site brings those official pathways together for Big Stone County readers.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket information: how criminal court dockets and civil court dockets are searched and interpreted locally.
- Hearing routes: how to use the court schedule and verify an upcoming setting.
- Case lookup: how to run a docket search through MCRO by name, court file number, or citation number.
- Official copies: how to request court case records from local court administration.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not part of the Minnesota Judicial Branch, Big Stone County District Court, or any government office. The following limits apply:
- We cannot obtain an official docket sheet or court file.
- We cannot set, alter, or confirm a hearing date.
- We cannot seal, amend, or remove a court record.
- We cannot issue certified copies, orders, or court documents.
- We cannot give legal advice about an individual case.
- We cannot guarantee that an office procedure, fee, or calendar entry has not changed.
Only Big Stone County District Court administration or the court that maintains a case can issue an official or certified court record.
Search Partners
Some pages contain a search box provided by a third-party company. That company controls its service, charges, and search results. A paid referral may produce revenue that helps operate this resource. Third-party search results are not court records, are not controlled by this site, and should be verified through the originating court or clerk.
